There are several pre-set sounds in different keys and with some slight special effects. The sound, of course, is not like the wonderful sound of a wood chanter, but it was ok. Anyhow within 30 minutes I was happily playing all of the tunes that I know. For instance I had the volume set at 1 out of 15. As I worked with it and found better settings to use. And the first notes and playability were off.īut…. And the feel of the chanter and bag simulator felt odd and restrictive. My first impression is that it was all smaller than I thought. I must say it was nice ordering anything associated with Uilleann pipes and having it take less then months or years. Ramon Castro told me he had to order batteries and then do an assembly. It took about 2 weeks for the vPipes to be delivered from Spain. My Experience……and remember I am still a beginner…… What I have experienced was more like the last two links. I grabbed my photosales income, my future lens savings account, and borrowed from one of my daughters wedding funds (no wedding in foreseeable future). there are LOTs of times I find myself in a situation where I want to play the pipes but cannot because of the environment I am in. How many more years do I have left before arthritis or some other malady prevents me from doing my passions (one being Uilleann pipes).Īnd…. In addition, my “mortality realization” is setting in. So actually it is not that expensive if you look at it that way. I spent nearly twice that amount for my current camera body and $1988 is about what I spend on USED canon L lenses. I had this notion that I needed to be a good player on my chanter before I got a half set and a really good player before I would consider a 3/4 or full set.
I had been eyeing the vPipes for a few years now… but they are about $1,988 US (June13 rates).
